A
Special “Thank You” To Our Volunteers |
 |
For
ten years now a group of very special people has
put in endless hours of volunteer work to make
Hot Rods at the Beach the successful car show
it has become. First of all, we thank the people
who volunteer year round, attending the organizational
meetings, considering new ideas and making plans
so the show will run even better than the previous
year. Those people are: Conor Mulroney, Randy
Swart, Craig Stenberg, Bob Rittenhouse, Don Caponigro,
Carrie Dianda McCoid, and Bill Dianda. We especially
thank Carrie Dianda McCoid for her year-round
duties which include: attending meetings, preparing
and mailing registration forms and confirmation
letters to registered participants, driving around
passing out posters and contacting businesses
for raffle prizes, and talking on the telephone
with sponsors, vendors, volunteers and personnel
of the Boardwalk and SCPOA coordinating all the
many aspects of the car show. Thank you, Carrie.
We couldn’t do it without you!!!
We would also like to thank the people who bring
together the Hot Rods at the Beach newspaper insert:
Warren Madsen, Gina Dianda, Carolyn Dianda, and
Carrie Dianda-McCoid for gathering pictures and
writing articles. We would like to thank Bob Barbour
and Michael O’Reilly for the concept and
design for this year’s event poster. We
would like to thank Derol Frye and the gang at
57Design for their help with our marketing and
website. We would also like to thank the very
talented Mike Forbush for designing this year’s
event T-Shirt. If it were not for his amazing
abilities, our wild ideas would never be able
to be turned into reality.
When the time for the show comes around, we have
about 60 day-of-event volunteers who show up very,
very early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday
to help set up the huge parking lot, check in
pre-registered cars, register day-of-event cars,
direct traffic, set up the raffle booth and sell
tickets, provide general information to spectators,
control the environment of the show to protect
the cars and ensure the happiness of the participants
and spectators as well, and clean up Sunday afternoon
when the show is over. These volunteers have two
or three organizational meetings a year and work
hard all weekend long to ensure that the show
runs smoothly. This is a very congenial group
of people, and we have a great time working with
old friends and meetings new people. We say, “Thank
you” for your tireless hours of volunteer
work that make this car show a success year after
year.
