A
Special “Thank You” To Our Volunteers |
 |
For
eleven years now a group of very special people has
put in endless hours of volunteer work to make
Hot Rods at the Beach the successful car show
it has become. First of all, we thank the people
who volunteer year round, attending the organizational
meetings, considering new ideas and making plans
so the show will run even better than the previous
year. Those people are: Conor Mulroney, Randy
Swart, Craig Stenberg, Bob Rittenhouse, Don Caponigro,
Carrie Dianda McCoid, and Bill Dianda. We especially
thank Carrie Dianda McCoid for her year-round
duties which include: attending meetings, preparing
and mailing registration forms and confirmation
letters to registered participants, driving around
passing out posters and contacting businesses
for raffle prizes, and talking on the telephone
with sponsors, vendors, volunteers and personnel
of the Boardwalk and SCPOA coordinating all the
many aspects of the car show. Thank you, Carrie.
We couldn’t do it without you!!!
A huge thank you to John Dufour from Classified DJ Service who works long hours throughout our weekend event to bring us awesome music and all of our sound capabilities and technology. John is a true professional and we love working with him! We would also like to give a special thank you to Gary McCourt for organizing the Good Times Newspaper Insert. Gary writes wonderful articles and stories and works hard to gather photos and information to include in the insert. His work definitely captures the true essence of our Local Hot Rodding enthusiasts. We would like to thank Todd Schafer of Schafer Designs for taking care of our website design and maintenance. Todd is dedicated to his community and we appreciate his support! We would also like to thank the very talented Mike Forbush for designing our event T-Shirts and our marketing poster. If it were not for his amazing abilities, our wild ideas would never be able to be turned into reality. A very sincere thank you to Rick Goertz of Graphic Apparel who has generously donated an extensive amount of time and energy to our organization from printing our event T-Shirts to connecting us with valuable resources and people within his network to assisting us in our marketing efforts to volunteering at the event his dedication is second to none!
When the time for the show comes around, we have
about 60 day-of-event volunteers who show up very,
very early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday
to help set up the huge parking lot, check in
pre-registered cars, register day-of-event cars,
direct traffic, set up the raffle booth and sell
tickets, provide general information to spectators,
control the environment of the show to protect
the cars and ensure the happiness of the participants
and spectators as well, and clean up Sunday afternoon
when the show is over. These volunteers have two
or three organizational meetings a year and work
hard all weekend long to ensure that the show
runs smoothly. This is a very congenial group
of people, and we have a great time working with
old friends and meetings new people. We say, “Thank
you” for your tireless hours of volunteer
work that make this car show a success year after
year.
